Stronger than standard grade 4.8 rod — designed for structural bolting, mechanical engineering, and load-bearing applications. Metric coarse thread, 1.5mm pitch, manufactured to DIN 976. Sold per 1 metre length.

Why choose grade 8.8 over grade 4.8?
Grade 8.8 has a minimum tensile strength of 800 N/mm² versus 400 N/mm² for grade 4.8 — making it approximately twice as strong. It's specified for structural steelwork, machinery mounting, and anywhere BS EN or engineering specifications require high tensile fasteners.
Is this suitable for outdoor use?
BZP offers moderate corrosion resistance — fine for covered or light external use. For permanent outdoor structural use, see our M10 8.8 HDG rod. For marine environments, use A4 stainless.
What nuts are compatible?
