Our screed tripod is the professional's choice for setting an accurate datum level before pouring liquid screed, self-levelling compound, or flowing concrete. Designed and manufactured in-house by Northern Fasteners, each tripod features three solid steel legs with a central M10 threaded shaft and a 60mm diameter levelling disc — giving you a precise, stable reference point that you can set to exactly the right height before your pour.

Unlike many screed tripods on the market, ours screws all the way down to floor level, making them suitable even for very thin screed applications where every millimetre counts. Simply place, adjust, level, pour, and remove. Each tripod can be cleaned and reused on future projects.

How to use

  1. Determine your datum level — the desired finished floor height before any floor covering (tiles, laminate etc.) is applied. Use a fixed point such as a door sill or finished floor level as your reference.
  2. Place the first tripod at your datum point and adjust the disc to exactly match using a laser level.
  3. Place additional tripods throughout the area at approximately 1500mm spacing and transfer the laser level to each one, adjusting until all discs are set to the same datum.
  4. Pour the liquid screed up to the level of the tripod discs, checking for any high or low spots between tripods.
  5. Remove all tripods immediately after pouring and clean thoroughly — pay special attention to the thread and lubricate periodically.

Browse our full range of hex nuts, washers, threaded rods, and bolt and nut sets to find everything you need.

BZP, HDG or A4 Stainless — which finish do you need?

Choosing the right finish is just as important as choosing the right size. BZP is ideal for indoor and sheltered use. HDG provides heavy-duty corrosion protection for outdoor, structural, and timber applications. A4 Grade 316 Stainless is the choice for marine, coastal, and chemical environments where no rust is acceptable. Read our guide to help you decide.
