What's the difference between grade 4.8 and grade 8.8?
Grade 4.8 is standard mild steel suitable for general applications. Grade 8.8 is high tensile and used where greater strength is required under load. For structural bolting or heavy-duty applications, choose our M10 grade 8.8 threaded rod.
Is BZP suitable for outdoor use?
BZP provides moderate corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and light external use. For permanent outdoor or structural applications, choose our HDG version. For marine or coastal environments, use our A4 stainless steel rod.
Can I cut it to length?
Yes — threaded rod can be cut with a hacksaw or angle grinder. Run a nut past the cut before cutting, then remove it to clean the thread end.
